Step 1: open Instagram and set up your story
First things first, open the Instagram app, and tap your profile picture in the top left corner or swipe right on the home screen to create a new story. Snap a photo, record a video, or select something from your gallery. You’re just a couple of taps away from adding that perfect song.
Step 2: tap the sticker icon and select “Music”
Once your content is ready, tap the sticker icon at the top of your screen (that little smiley face). Next, choose the Music sticker from the list. You’ll be taken to Instagram’s massive library of tunes, where you can search for any song on Instagram by artist, song title, or even genre.
Step 3: pick your song and customize
Now it’s time for the fun part! Choose the song on Instagram you want to play, and select the snippet that best fits your story. Instagram lets you pick up to 15 seconds of the track, and you can even decide how the song shows up – lyrics or album art, it’s your call. Once you’re happy with your selection, just hit “Done”, and you’re good to go. Post your story like normal, and boom—your followers are now vibing to your soundtrack.
